The Club would like to thank Kilfeacle and Larkspur for the use of their courts. The Club would also like to thank everyone who helped in any way over the week, organising committee, catering and to all who kindly baked. A special thanks to all the players who entered and congratulations to all the winners and runners up. Special mention to our local winners: Ladies doubles grade 1 / 2 were Laura Heffernan and Laura Durkan, Mixed doubles grade 4, husband & wife team: John & Brenda Shanahan and Ladies doubles grade 6 were Breda Hickey and Geraldine Cleary.  Well done all. Mai’s Café closed their doors for the final time on Friday 21 October 2022. After 6 years of being in Clonmel, local couple Shane & Kay McGonigle took the decision not to renew their lease at Market Place. They have met so many fantastic people during their time there and it has been their pleasure to serve all. They are now looking forward to an exciting new chapter and to meeting customers old and new at Cahir Farmers Market every Saturday. They bake such an amazing selection of wheat free/gluten free goodies and traybakes such as Carrot & walnut, lemon & poppy seed, caramel squares, Belgian chocolate brownies and of course their exceedingly popular Achill Sea salted caramel chocolate brownies and much more. They also make crepes to order with a variety of toppings. All perfect to go with their selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolates, mocha etc, they even have a selection of alternative milks to suit everyone. Fancy meeting a friend any weekend, well why not treat them to a mouth-watering sweet treat and hot beverage from Kay’s horsebox at Cahir Farmers Market. Then take a stroll around the beautiful inch field, a perfect Saturday morning. See you all bright and early from 9am-1pm. Please note any “in date” vouchers will be honoured at Kay’s horsebox any Saturday. Finally, they would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported them over the years.

Our u11s are into the county final. What a win the girls had last Sunday October 30 in Ballycahill where they beat Moyne. Super proud we are and many thanks to all the parents and coaches.  Our u6 and u8 players had their end of season party last Saturday morning in Marlhill Open Farm in conjunction with the football club. A great morning was had by all and many thanks to Heaney Opticians for their sponsorship. Our u14s and u16s have now also finished off the year’s training and will be back early in January on the AstroTurf  for the new season. They finished off with Canoeing on the river Suir last Saturday morning week, and headed to Noel O’Donnell’s, Woodview Service Station afterwards for a bite to eat. It was a fantastic morning, many thanks to all who helped on the day. Our u13s girls are still in competition, and we wish them and our u11s the best going forward.
