As the 12 months come to a close, one of these clubs will bag the title as the winner and receive a €1000 bursary. Cub Focus remains integral in supporting Beat’s ongoing commitment to highlight the amazing work that local clubs do across the region. Voting closes on August 21. The winning club will be revealed at the Club Focus Awards on August 23. Best of luck to all the clubs taking part.

This week’s Jackpot is €7,400.

SURVEY

It is intended to do a forensic adult and survey of New Inn Parish Graveyard in the coming months on behalf of the Parish/ Pastoral Council. We now appeal to anyone who has an Unmarked grave in the Old part to please contact John Hally on 087 1902092 or Christy Clifford within the next two weeks please. Your support with this is very much appreciated.

25 CARD DRIVE, KNOCKGRAFFON CARDS

Winners on Wed July 25 were Maisie O’Grady and Mary Gleeson on 11 games. Runners up were Jim Meskell/ Tim Joe McGrath, Frank Gubbins / Mattie Boyle, Pat O Rourke / Joe Aherne on 10 games. Table prizes to Noel White / Roseanne Carew and brothers James / Thomas Kenney. Well done to all. Cards start at 8.30pm. All are welcome. On behalf of the Knockgraffon Card committee, sincere sympathy is extended to the family of the late Timmy Fitzgerald, Loughloher, Cahir on his sad passing. Timmy was a stalwart of the cards here in Knockgraffon and will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

NOVENA

Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh has extended an invitation to all the faithful to join in a nine-day novena of prayer for the renewal of faith, hope and love in Ireland. The novena will run from Friday 28 July to Saturday 5 August, in preparation for Light the Fire at Slane on Sunday 6 August. On August 6 (World Youth Day) Archbishop Eamon Martin Primate of All Ireland will relight the fire on the hill of Slane that was lit by St Patrick many years ago. He will be joined by Sr Briege McKenna, Dana and Fr Pablo. There will be a Holy mass, rosary and a Eucharistic healing service on the day.

Congratulations to Rockwell Rovers and Slieve Felim on a brilliant contest on Sunday July 23. It took extra time to separate them!! Well done to our girls who battled right to the end and were delighted to come away with a 2-point win. Congrats to captains Maria Durkin and Emily O’Connor who accepted the cup on behalf of the team. As always, a huge thanks to our dedicated coaches.
