5K FAMILY FUN RUN/WALK – MARY DOYLE MEMORIAL

Chipped timing is on Saturday 11 June starting at Rockwell Rovers GAA field, New Inn. Registration from 6pm and the race starts at 7.30pm. Perpetual cup for first county Tipperary Male & Female finishers in honour of Mary.  Refreshments afterwards. Entry fee: Athletics €10, Walkers €5. All are welcome

WOMEN’S GROUP

A big thank to local hairdresser Sharon Kirby for her talk on hair styles and hair maintenance recently. An enjoyable evening was had by all. Check out Sharon’s Facebook page  Trip to Bloom, Phoenix Park, Dublin is going ahead on Thursday, June 2. Bus leaves the school car park at 8am. Bus is full now and we wish all the women all the best on their trip to the Big Smoke. Now in its 16th year, the show has grown into something which not only makes for an enjoyable day out, but also offers a vast range of practical information on everything from gardening, to growing fruit and vegetables, cooking and culture.

KNOCKGRAFFON CARDS

Winners on Wednesday, May 28 with 11 games were Ml Murphy & Jimmy Looby and in second place with 10 games were brother Billy & Vincent Phelan.  Table prize went to Patsy Hartigan & Jim Phelan and Sandra English & Roseanne Carew. Cards on every Wednesday night at the Old School, Knockgraffon 8.15pm. All are welcome.

ROCKWELL ROVERS CUL CAMP

Online booking for Rockwell Rovers Kellogg’s Cul Camps is now open. Please see the following link: https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/booking/online/camp. It is on from Monday June 27 to Friday, July 1 from 10am to 2pm each day. Cost is €75 and this includes the delivery of the gear directly to your home which means that if there are any issues with your order you will have to deal directly with Kellogg’s Cul Camp. We will not be able to swap gear or get varied sizes, so please be careful with your order. Cul camp is for primary school going children between the ages of 6 to 13. ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK 2022

On Saturday 18 June. Please contact Margaret on 087 0568216 or Mary Jo on 086 2112019 to book a place on the bus.  Coach departs Cashel at 7am, Golden at 7.15am, Marian Hall, Tipp at 7.30, Monard at 7.40, Oola at 7.45, Pallasgreen at 7.50 and Boher at 8am. What does a pilgrim find at Knock? A chance to pray, a chance to relax, a chance to find peace. The devotions that have developed in the course of one hundred years are guaranteed to touch the soul. To be with other praying people at a Shrine is to get a unique chance to stand back from life and let God throw light on its bits and pieces. To journey out from home on pilgrimage throws light on home. Travel broadens the mind, in more senses than one.

SPONSORED WALK FOR MENINGITIS

A big thank you to all who attended the sponsored walk for Meningitis last Sunday 29 May at Scarragh Woods, Mountain Rd, Cahir. Patrick Hickey is a local lad from Outrath, Cahir son of Breeda & Jim Hickey. In August he will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Meningitis Research foundation. SINCERE SYMPATHY

to Bernard & Miriam McGivern, Springfield on the passing of her dad Richard (Dick) Hayes, Chancellorstown and formerly Glenconnor, Clonmel. Dick (in his 90th year) will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, sons Martin and Edward and his daughter Miriam, his grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends. Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
