New Inn Notes 15/10/2022

SPOOKFEST

Our Spookfest is back. New Inn village is holding its annual Scarecrow competition from Sunday, October 23. It’s that time again where you need to get the thinking caps on and display your scarecrow creation in the village of New Inn. This Sunday October 23, we are taking names and registering your masterpieces from 2-4pm in the Gaa field. We will also be selling tickets for the Kiddies disco which will be in the New Inn Community Centre on the bank holiday Monday, October 31 from 3-5pm. We’ll need as many scarecrows as possible lining our village and roads so we can get the village buzzing. We are calling all our families, groups of people, townlands, schools, players from teams, clubs etc. in the parish but also from outside the parish (all are welcome) to get together and create a masterpiece of a scarecrow of any theme you wish. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page, “New Inn festival” Spookfest, for further updates. If anyone needs more information, please contact Anita on 087 6505889.

ROCKWELL ROVERS JUVENILE CLUB

It has been a very busy weekend for the juvenile club. We had two teams competing in the U12 Garda Cup last Saturday, with the group in Clonoulty winning it outright. The team in Bansha got beaten in the shield final. Both these teams put up super performances over the last two Saturdays. Well done to the boys & their coaches. Thanks also to the parents for all the driving to training & matches. Our U9’s travelled to Mallow last Saturday to a Munster blitz. Well done to all the boys & girls, every one of them were just fantastic and what great teamwork they all showed. It was a great blitz to finish off the year even with the terrible weather we had. We want to say a big thank you to our U15 club player, Kieran Moloney who was our young whistler, he was excellent and was very fair to all the players, much appreciated Kieran. Again, a big thank you to all the parents for traveling. It was great to see the support from everyone!!
