NEW INN BOYS PARENT’S COUNCIL

There will be a parent’s council meeting today Wednesday September 14 at 8.30pm in the Boys school. Noreen Fitzgerald is stepping down as treasurer after 3-4 years in the role and Anne Heenan has kindly agreed to join the council. Many thanks to Noreen for all her work and commitment. Items on the Agenda are as follows: Update on recent activities, Treasurer’s report, Fundraising for 2022/2023, Book rental, Lunchbag.ie and AOB.

NEW INN WOMANS GROUP

On Saturday October 15, the New Inn Women’s Group is going on a day trip to Waterford! We will start the day in the fishing village of Dunmore East before heading for a tour of Waterford Crystal. We will end the day at Grow HQ where we will go behind the scenes of the TV Programme Grow Cook Eat and enjoy an exclusive garden tour, talk and a three-course meal prepared by head chef JB Dubois. Transport to and from Waterford will be arranged by the New Inn Women’s Group. CLOTHES COLLECTION

New Inn community centre continues with its fundraising clothes collection and there has been a great response in the two weeks so far. The final dates for collection are today Wednesday September 14 & Thursday Sept 15 from 6pm to 7pm at the community centre, New Inn. Thank you for your support and taking the time and effort to support our fundraising drive as this will be our main fundraiser for the year.

TIPPERARY DRAW

The new 2023 Tipperary Draw restarts this month with the first draw taking place on Friday September 30. With a prize fund of €500,000 (including 11 cars!) and 29 winners each month, you don’t want to miss out on your chance to win. This draw is a great source of revenue for the club so please support! Joint Winners last Wednesday Sept 7 were Kitty Peters & Jim O’Donnell and Paddy Freeney & Margaret Quinlan with 11 games. DATE FOR YOUR DIARY –GAVIN MCGUIRK PERPETUAL MEMORIAL CUP

A two-day golf tournament has been arranged for this Friday Sept 16 and Sat Sept 17 at Cahir Park Golf Club in memory of the late Gavin McGuirk. They are hoping to raise monies for the Irish Heart Foundation and Cahir Lions Club heart defibrillators. It will be a team and individual competition. Best two scores out of teams of four and individual stableford competition. SINCERE SYMPATHY 

Is extended to the Estridge and Ahern families on the sad passing of Eileen Estridge (nee Ahern), London, England and formerly of Donegal, Clerihan. Pre – deceased by her husband Bill and deeply regretted by her children Martin and Caroline, her sisters Philomena (USA) and Margaret (London). May she rest in Peace. Rockwell Rovers have very kindly donated €6,500 to Cancer Research Trials in Cork University Hospital following the very successful Rockwell Rovers Willie Flynn Memorial Golf Classic 2022 held in July, kindly sponsored by Joe Blair, MBC Timber Frame. Accepting the cheque from Cormac Ryan are Martina, Mary & Alma Flynn.  Included in photo also – Willie Flynn, Tommy Flynn and Annie Flynn, Chairperson Rockwell Rovers John Hally, Geraldine Cleary and PJ Moloney.
