SCOIL MHUIRE GAN SMÁL

would like to thank everyone who supported their show last Wednesday night. €2,670.00 was raised for school funds. Thanks to those who attended, to our sponsors, to those who donated spot prizes, to the Parents Association, to Fr. Bobby, to the staff and most importantly to the pupils themselves who performed brilliantly on the night.

THANK YOU

On behalf of the Ryan family, Clonmel Rd, New Inn, they cannot thank everyone enough for your help while in Australia. They got support from all over the world which includes America, England and Australia. They will be forever grateful to you. It is still a long way to go and a lot of uncertainty, but thankfully, Nicola is doing really well…. life is such a delicate thing and things can be turned upside down in a heartbeat. They are truly grateful and send best wishes to everyone.

NEW INN BOYS SCHOOL

Sincere thanks to each and every one of you for the enormous support for the boy’s Christmas shows held recently in the NICC. Almost €2,300 was raised which would not be possible without all of your generous donations. Massive thanks to all who helped behind the scenes as well. Congratulations to all the staff on the amazing performances and the fact that the boys really enjoyed themselves. Míle buíochas go léir.

SENIOR GAA CLUB AGM

The annual general meeting of Rockwell Rovers GAA club will be held in the NICC on Sunday 15 January at 2.30pm.

TIPPERARY G.A.A. YEARBOOK NOW ON SALE

The Tipperary G.A.A. Yearbook is now available in Cashel (Halls and Ely’s) or in Cahir (Dolan’s Super Valu or Sampson’s). It includes the achievements of Rockwell Rovers and some joint ventures with our near neighbour, Rosegreen.  One of the sections of the book that is read with interest and a little sadness is the “Friends we Lost” obituary notices of the many Gaels who passed away during 2022. As usual there are many, fine people, men, and women, who contributed significantly to the G.A.A. during their lifetimes. All this, over two hundred pages, for €15. This also would make an ideal Christmas stocking filler for all the avid Gaels out there.

JOHN DEVEREUX

Rockwell Rovers GAA Club would like to send their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John (aka the Brick) Devereux, Talloon, New Inn. John died peacefully at his cousin Freddie Sweeney’s residence Mortlestown, Killenaule. John was always a great supporter of our club. John played Club Minor in 1957 and was on the winning Rockwell Rovers West & County Football team in 1963, the clubs first county title in an adult competition. Ar dheis Dé go raibh an anam.

PATRICK (PAT) HALLEY

Rockwell Rovers GAA Club would like to extend their sincere sympathies to Mrs Eileen Halley, Springfield and family. Pat passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family after an illness borne with courage and dignity. Sadly missed by his wife Eileen, children Oliver, Kevin, Margaret (Daly), Bridget (Heaney), Pat and Paul, his nineteen adored and treasured grandchildren and extended families. He was always a great supporter of the club and a proud father to his sons every time they put on the blue jersey. May he rest in peace.
