CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF THE NEW INN WOMEN’S GROUP

On Sunday, March 30th, the elegant Chez Hans Restaurant, Cashel was transformed into a red-carpet venue as the New Inn Women’s Group gathered to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The evening was filled with glamour, laughter, and heartfelt memories as members reflected on the group’s rich history and the contributions of past members.

Attendees enjoyed a delightful evening of fine dining and engaging conversations, celebrating not only the successes of the past but also looking forward to the future of the organisation. With a commitment to fostering community and friendship, the New Inn Women’s Group is poised for many more years of memorable celebrations. Here’s to the next thirty years!

EASTER CEREMONIES IN NEW INN & KNOCKGRAFFON

Starting on Holy Thursday (April 17), mass for the Last supper in Knockgraffon at 7pm and at 8pm in New Inn, followed by Penance service/confessions at 8.30pm.

Good Friday (i.e., April 18), Liturgy of the Passion at 3pm in New Inn and Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm in Knockgraffon.
Holy Saturday Easter Vigil mass at 7pm in New Inn.

Easter Sunday Mass at 9.30am in Knockgraffon.
Easter Sunday Mass at 11.30am in New Inn

 

 

CELEBRATION OF SACRAMENT OF THE SICK

The Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated during the Special Mass on Monday14 April at 3.00pm in St John the Baptist Church, Cashel. All who feel they need to receive God’s healing presence are invited to attend.

 

 

CAHIR DAY CARE CENTRE

Coffee morning on Sunday 13th April from 9am to 12 noon. All proceeds go to running the Centre. Your support would be much appreciated!

THE NEW INN & DISTRICT CLASSIC & VINTAGE CLUB ANNOUNCES ANNUAL WALTER CLEARY MEMORIAL FUNDRAISING RUN

We are excited to invite the community to join us for the annual Walter Cleary Memorial Fundraising Run, hosted by The New Inn & District Classic & Vintage Club, on Sunday, May 4th. Registration will begin at 11am with the Run kicking off at 1pm. Participants and attendees can enjoy refreshments served before and after the event. We are thrilled to host a raffle following the Tractor Run, featuring many wonderful prizes. Building on the success of last year’s Juniors Run, we are looking forward to an even bigger event this year. Our young participants will lead the parade on their toy cars, tractors, and bikes, adding a delightful touch to the festivities. As the day winds down, join us at Barrons Pub at 8pm for an exciting auction, where a variety of intriguing items will be up for bid, followed by an evening filled with great music and conversation. We sincerely appreciate your support and attendance, as all funds raised will benefit vital local organizations: C-Saw, which offers support and counselling for those affected by suicide; Cahir Day Care Centre; and New Inn Parish Links, who provide invaluable assistance to our elderly community. SINCERE SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to all the Wallace and Flanagan families on the passing of Maureen Wallace (née Flanagan) Rosegreen, who peacefully passed away on March 20th at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family at Acorn Lodge. Deepest condolences to Marie & Tom Ryan and family Hymenstown and Declan Flanagan Snr and family, New Inn on the passing of Marie’s mother and Declan’s sister. Maureen is mourned by her sons Seamus and Gus, daughters Marie Ryan, Theresa Downey, Valerie Bourke and Sinead Spencer, their extended families as well as her brothers and sisters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Gus, son Paddy, infant daughter Marian and siblings Joanie, Mick and Watt. May she rest in eternal peace.

ROCKWELL ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB SHINES IN CASHEL PARADE

The Rockwell Rovers Camogie Club proudly showcased their vibrant float during this year’s parade in Cashel last Sunday, March 16th. In a creative twist, the club featured “Cu Cailin,” celebrating the talented players of today instead of the legendary Irish hero, Cu Chulainn. The girls delivered an outstanding performance throughout the parade, captivating the crowd with their enthusiasm and spirit. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made the event a success.

NEW INN VINTAGE CLUB SUPPORTS LOCAL GAA CLUB. 

In a thoughtful gesture that highlights the importance of community support, Pat O’Rourke and John Whelan of the New Inn Vintage Club presented a cheque to the Rockwell Rovers Juvenile Club. The presentation took place in the company of the U13 team, showcasing the Vintage Club’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship in the community and reinforcing the bonds of support that strengthen our local clubs.

The Friends of Tipperary Football wish to extend their deepest condolences to Stephen Gleeson, Cashel (Sports and Multimedia Journalist), and his family on the passing of his father, Anthony Gleeson of Upperchurch, on March 13, 2025. Anthony will be profoundly missed by his loving wife, Joan; son, Stephen; daughter, Antoinette; daughter-in-law, Petra; son-in-law, Neilie; and adored grandchildren, Lilly-May, Nora, and Iarlaith. He is also mourned by his brothers, Frank, Tom, and Pakie; sisters, Julia and Peggy; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and a wide circle of relatives, neighbours, and friends. The New Inn Women’s Group is excited to announce their upcoming Afternoon Tea Party following the success of their last event. Congratulations to Diarmuid Barron from Racecourse Cross, who has earned a prestigious spot on Ireland’s Senior Rugby A team. Barron, a former student of Rockwell College, will be joined by another alumnus, Brian Gleeson, as they prepare to face England next Sunday at 1pm at Ashton Gate in Bristol. This selection is a testament to Barron’s hard work and dedication to the sport. The community is proud of his achievement and looks forward to cheering on the team. C’mon Ireland!

The talented members of New Inn Voices proudly present a cheque for €2,200 to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
