WOMEN’S GROUP

has some exciting upcoming events that are sure to interest members and the general public alike. Firstly, there will be a “Treasure Hunt” held at Rockwell College on Thursday, May 16, starting at 6:45 pm. Participants are asked to meet at the church on the college grounds. The event promises a fun and engaging experience, and all are welcome to join in the adventure. Additionally, there will be a “Solicitor’s Talk” taking place on Tuesday, May 21, at 8pm in the NICC. This talk will provide valuable insights and information on legal matters, making it a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the legal field. Attendees can expect an informative and engaging session. Furthermore, the Women’s Group is organizing a trip to “Bloom” on Thursday, May 30. Bloom is an annual event organized by Bord Bia and is set to take place over five days, from May 30th to June 3rd. The event will run daily from 9 am to 6 pm and will be held across an impressive 70 acres in the beautiful Phoenix Park. This year, Bloom is celebrating its 18th birthday, a testament to its popularity and status as one of the nation’s favourite summer events. With its picturesque setting and diverse range of attractions, Bloom offers something for everyone and is not to be missed. SCOIL MHUIRE GAN SMAL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER – SOLAR PANEL SYSTEM PRIZE

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Solar Panels Raffle.  As announced by the school, Alex Mitrofan has installed solar panels on the roof of our school. In addition to this he has very generously donated Solar Panels as a raffle prize to raise money for school resources.

Prize Details: Nationwide supply and fit of 3.5kW photovoltaic system. This includes photovoltaic installation, 8 panels tier 1, inverter and all accessories for installation.

All proceeds from this raffle will go toward our school, who hope to use the funds raised for purchase of the following:

ICT – 2 interactive whiteboards, Purchase of musical instruments,

P.E./Sports equipment, Special Educational Needs resources, Drama/Stage equipment.

This prize for the raffle is a fantastic opportunity for us as parents/guardians to fundraise for these much needed and valuable resources for our school.

The raffle will operate online on the idonate platform, with the draw taking place in the school on Friday, 14 June.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the Mitrofan family.

NEW INN TENNIS CLUB

AGM is on in the Community centre on Wednesday May 29 at 8pm. All are welcome.

THE FR MATHEW PLAYERS 

held their AGM on Wednesday May 1st in NICC. The Chairperson Eddie Golden congratulated all on a successful production and thanked the cast, crew, committee and volunteers for their work in the lead up to and during the show. The Committee for 2024/2025 is as follows: Chairperson: Eddie Golden, Assistant Chairperson: Catherine McGrath, Secretary: Lisa Hally, Assistant Secretary: Gwyneth Kelly, Treasurer: Eileen Hally, Assistant Treasurer: Esther Boland, PRO: Isobel Lynch. The Chairperson thanked outgoing members of the committee, the group will now take a well-deserved break for the summer and return with a view to the 2025 production in September.

Sincere sympathies to the family of the late Anne Lonergan, Dranganmore, Cahir (formerly of Knockgraffon). Our thoughts and prayers to her husband Paddy and family. Anne was a stalwart of the cards here in Knockgraffon for many years. May she rest in peace.
