AFTERNOON TEA PARTY

The Women’s group are organising an afternoon tea party in the New Inn Community Center entre from 3pm to 5.30pm this Sunday January 29. It is in aid of the Community Centre, Parish Links and New Inn Bowls. If any group/individuals are interested in hosting a table, please contact MF Barron ASAP on 052 7462252 or mbl no 087 7595512. BARRON’S DARTS CLUB

are holding their annual Fundraiser. It is in aid of the New Inn Tidy Towns. There will be a darts tournament in Barron’s Pub New Inn this Saturday January 28. Darts away at 8pm, €10 entry. Men’s competition limited to 32 entries, entries via revolut on 0872955071 or cash to Barrons pub, no spots will be held without payment as we previously held spots and had no shows. CAHIR GARDA DISTRICT

Annual Senior Citizens Party- Dear Older Person. You are cordially invited to an Older Persons Party at Cahir House Hotel this Friday January 27 at 5pm. Music, dancing, refreshments and spot Prizes. Neighbours and family who bring an older person are more than welcome to stay and enjoy the evening. We will arrange Transport for you between 4pm and 5pm on the evening of Friday January 27.  We all look forward to seeing you there!

 

ROCKWELL ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB

At our recent AGM the following officers were returned or elected: Chairperson PJ Moloney, Secretary Louise Brennan, Assistant Secretary Louise Moloney, Treasurer Tara Stafford, PRO Annette Carroll. Our adjourned Agm will be held on Tuesday January 31at 8pm.  A few posts regarding coaches etc will be ratified on the night. Training will resume asap as our lights on the AstroTurf are nearly in operation and once they are up and running, all ages will be back. Our u14s and u16s are starting back on the AstroTurf on Sundays from 3.30pm to 5ish, if anyone can make it for some strength and conditioning, we would love to see you. History is in the making with the club putting in a junior team this year. We are looking forward to seeing what the year will bring and welcoming some of our previous players back to the field. KNOCKGRAFFON CARDS

Winners last Wednesday, January 18 with 13 games were brothers Billy and Vincent Phelan. Runners Up were Cathy O’Gorman/Phil O’Connor on 12 games. Table prizes to Chas Keane/ Michael O’Flaherty and Michael O’Gorman/Tony Doheny. Well done all. Cards on every Wednesday night at the Old School, Knockgraffon at 8.30pm sharp. All are welcome.

A well-attended Senior AGM took place in the clubhouse on Sunday January 15. The following officers were returned or elected on the night. Chairman: John Hally, Vice Chair Thomas Buckley, Secretary: Geraldine Cleary, Asst Secretary: Elaine Cummins, Treasurer: Mary Newman, Asst Treasurer: Peter Farrell, PRO: Elaine Cummins, Health & Wellbeing: Martina Durkan, Registrar: Cathy Fitzgerald, School Liaison: Officer Kieran Durkan, Children’s Officer: Anita O’Dwyer, Development Chairperson:  Adrian O’Dwyer, Irish Culture & Language: Lorraine Farrell, West Board Delegates: John Hally, Kieran Durkan and Gerry Ryan, Senior Management team: Stephen Quirke, Tommy Flynn, Dermot O’Brien and Gerry Ryan. County Board Delegate, County Football Delegate, Junior team management, U21 and U19 deferred to adjourned Agm which will take place on Saturday February 4 at 7.30pm.  Thanks to outgoing treasurer JJ Cooney and to Andy Hennessy, outgoing Chairman of the development committee after 5 years. Sympathies were extended to families who lost loved ones during the year.
