It is with heavy hearts that we announced the tragic passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Michael Byrne, who lost his life to suicide during the May bank holiday weekend last year. In honour of Michael’s memory, his family and friends will participate in the Tipperary Three Peak Challenge this Saturday, May 3rd. We plan to ascend Galtee Mor, Slievenamon, and The Devil’s Bit as a tribute to him. All funds raised from this event will be divided between two vital charities: Jigsaw, which provides mental health support and services for young people aged 12-25, and C-SAW, a charity offering suicide support services in South Tipperary.

Tipp Fm are doing the VILLAGE TOUR on Wednesday May 14 in New Inn Community Center. All parish groups are being asked to send a few members to talk about their role in the daily life of the Parish. NEW INN WOMEN’S GROUP

The Women’s Group had its AGM recently during which the following officers were elected or returned: Breeda Culleton as Chairperson, Marie Bergin as Secretary, and Mary Frances Barron as Treasurer. Events coming up, include a talk with An Garda Síochána at 8pm on Tuesday, May 20, at the New Inn Community Centre (NICC). LIAM LYNCH COMMEMORATION

The 102nd Liam Lynch Commemoration and Memorial Mass will take place in Newcastle this Sunday, April 27 at 2pm.The Mass will be offered by Canon Brendan Crowley at 2pm with ceremonies beginning at 1:45am in Newcastle Village with the ceremonial raising of the Tri-Colour at Tigh na nDaoine before a parade to the Church. Following Mass, the congregation will march to the Community Hall where refreshments will be served, with the Oration which this year will be delivered by Peadar Tóibín TD, Leader of Aontú. The Chairman, Deputy Mattie McGrath, along with the organising committee looks forward to seeing you on the day.

Accord Catholic Marriage Care Service CLG is currently recruiting volunteers to train as marriage preparation programme facilitators to support couples preparing for the Sacrament of marriage. The marriage preparation programmes are fun and interactive and very popular with couples. Working as part of an enthusiastic, friendly and experienced team, facilitators typically provide three marriage preparation programmes per annum. Each team works from Accord centres which are located in every diocese around the country. Successful applicants will receive free professional training during seven in person workshops at venues around the country and will be part of a team delivering marriage preparation programmes in your local area. WEST SCÓR NA BPÁISTÍ

Rockwell Rovers Gaa club were well represented in the West Scór na bPáistí competition in Brú Ború recently where they won three winner’s medals in an extremely entertaining night of music, song, dance and storytelling. The club also had two runners up medals and performed with distinction in the other events.

The recent West Scór na bPáistí winners represented their division on April 6 th

in Halla na Féile Cashel. A packed hall was entertained with the top primary

school children in Tipperary in dance, song, music and recitation. Winners of the

The county final saw two gold medals going back to the West with Neasa Coen

collecting gold for her wonderful rendition of the Valley of Knockanure. Neasa

was accompanied on the day by guitar player Therese Ryan. Another gold medal

went to their neighbouring parish of Knockavilla Kickhams when Saibh Mc

Loughlin added to her west title when winning the Sean Nós dancing

competition. Cappawhite were clear second in the Tráth na gCeist with 27

correct from 30 questions. All entries were a credit to their clubs and West

Bord na Nóg.

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF THE NEW INN WOMEN’S GROUP

On Sunday, March 30th, the elegant Chez Hans Restaurant, Cashel was transformed into a red-carpet venue as the New Inn Women’s Group gathered to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The evening was filled with glamour, laughter, and heartfelt memories as members reflected on the group’s rich history and the contributions of past members.

Attendees enjoyed a delightful evening of fine dining and engaging conversations, celebrating not only the successes of the past but also looking forward to the future of the organisation. With a commitment to fostering community and friendship, the New Inn Women’s Group is poised for many more years of memorable celebrations. Here’s to the next thirty years!

Registration will begin at 11am with the Run kicking off at 1pm. Participants and attendees can enjoy refreshments served before and after the event. We are thrilled to host a raffle following the Tractor Run, featuring many wonderful prizes. Building on the success of last year’s Juniors Run, we are looking forward to an even bigger event this year. Our young participants will lead the parade on their toy cars, tractors, and bikes, adding a delightful touch to the festivities. As the day winds down, join us at Barrons Pub at 8pm for an exciting auction, where a variety of intriguing items will be up for bid, followed by an evening filled with great music and conversation. We sincerely appreciate your support and attendance, as all funds raised will benefit vital local organizations: C-Saw, which offers support and counselling for those affected by suicide; Cahir Day Care Centre; and New Inn Parish Links, who provide invaluable assistance to our elderly community.
