WILLIE FLYNN MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC

Rockwell Rovers Gaa club are running the Willie Flynn Memorial Golf Classic on the weekend of Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13 in Cahir Golf Club. SINCERE SYMPATHY 

Is extended to the family of the late Maureen Moroney (nee Egan), Boytonrath. Predeceased by her husband John, Maureen will be sadly missed by her daughters Catherine, Patricia and Anita and sons Sean and Brendan, extended families, neighbours and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. RESULTS OF TREASURE HUNT

Congratulations to the Women’s Group and New Inn Tidy Towns on their successful Treasure Hunt on Tuesday June 11. It was great to see so many participants take part and had a great time. Special congratulations to winner Breda Culleton and Teresa Shanahan for coming in second place. Well done also to Clara Flanagan and twins Mia & Chloe Flanagan for winning in the Junior category. The committee members, especially Trish Hogan and Mary O’Donnell deserve a big thank you for their delicious baking and to Mary O’Connor for helping out with refreshments. Thanks also to Conor & Sandra English for organising the Treasure Hunt along with their son Finbarr. The evening ended with a presentation of €200 from Mary Frances Barron of the Women’s Group to Philly Fahey, the chairperson of Tidy Towns. There was an extra special treat that evening with a surprise visit by Munster Rugby coach Denis Leamy, so a group photo was called for. All in all, a wonderful evening was had by all!

ROCKWELL ROVERS CAMOGIE CLUB
Our U12s had a fabulous day at Camán to Croker. What a fantastic experience for them to play in Croke Park. Thanks to coaches Lorraine, Eamonn, Paul and Brenda and to all the parents who travelled also. We look forward to seeing some of these little superstars playing in Croke Park again one day.

To Paddy & Bernie Farrell, Knockgraffon on the passing of Paddy’s brother Tommy Farrell, Ballycleave, Rearcross, Newport, Co. Tipperary who died suddenly at the University hospital Limerick last Wednesday June 12. Beloved son of the late Jack and Bridget. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Jimmy and Paddy, sisters Breda and Kathleen, sister-in-law Bernadette, brother-in-law P.J. White, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. We are excited to announce our Solar Panels Raffle, made possible by Alex Mitrofan’s generous donation. The raffle prize is a nationwide supply and fit of a 3.5kW photovoltaic system, including installation, 8 tier 1 panels, inverter, and all necessary accessories. THE MARY DOYLE MEMORIAL 5KM RUN.

takes place this Saturday 8th of June at 7:30pm. Registration begins at 6pm at Rockwell Rovers GAA grounds- Eircode: E25 DH94, Pairc na nGeal, New Inn, Cashel, Co Tipperary.

It’s an evening of participation, laughs and remembering this special lady who devoted so much of her time to athletics. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

 

TREASURE HUNT / WOMANS GROUP 
 In conjunction with New Inn Tidy towns is to take place this Tuesday, June 11 around New Inn village. Meeting at the Grotto at 7.45pm, starting at 8pm and finishing up at the Barrack’s Green.There is an entry fee of €5 and all proceeds to go to New Inn Tidy towns. Hoping for a nice dry evening, all are welcome!

“Rose Morris, Carrigeen, would like to thank all those who attended or supported the recently-held Conference on Stroke in The Cashel Palace Hotel.  The Conference was attended by over 200 affected stroke victims or their carers and was addressed by experts in the area of stroke prevention and recovery. Organised by Martin Quinn the Group also hold a support and information meeting on the last Thursday of every month in the Talbot Hotel, Clonmel, from 11 to 12 A.M.  All affected by stroke are welcome to attend. A special word of thanks to the Manager and Staff of the Cashel Palace for facilitating the Conference.”

New Inn Tidy Towns 
Weekly meet-ups are starting in preparation for the 2024 Tidy Towns Competition. Join us at the grotto every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8pm. If possible, please bring a high visibility vest and some gardening tools. There is a lot to do, and any help is greatly appreciated. If the meet-up time doesn’t work for you, feel free to work on your own time by picking up litter, weeding, or painting. We kindly request that all households keep the area outside their homes free of litter and weeds. Our Tidy Towns committee is small and under pressure to maintain the village’s appearance, especially with the upcoming judging starting from June 4th. Remember, every little bit helps. Last year, your efforts paid off, and we increased our marks by 6. Let’s aim to increase our marks even more this year! New members are always welcome to join us.
