Well done to New Inn Knockgraffon who beat Killenaule Moyglass in the South final of U10 football on Monday July 18. They are now through to the North County final on Saturday August 6 in Holycross against Newport. CEMETERY MASSES

“Remembering our loved ones”. The remaining annual graveyard mass in the New Inn Knockgraffon parish is as follows: Wednesday August 3 at Loughkent graveyard. The Mass is at 7.30pm, weather permitting, otherwise at the nearest Church i.e., New Inn church. Please ensure graves are tidy & altar arranged.

PARISH COUNCIL

Would like to thank everyone for their attendance at the Graveyard masses so far.  Just a reminder that Loughkent is on Wednesday August 3.  Also, thanks to those who are keeping the Cemetery’s clean and tidy.  Regarding New Inn graveyard, several family Headstones are starting to fall over in the old yard. We would kindly ask family members to please have a look at them and make arrangements to have them made safe. If you want any further information, please contact the cemetery Caretaker John Hally.  Please note the main Cemetery is owned by the Parish and not by Tipperary County Council. We thank you for your help and support. As was read out at masses at the weekend, the Archdiocese is going to make changes regarding Masses in the whole Archdiocese.  This will affect New Inn and Knockgraffon Parish.  We will keep people informed about this shortly.  It’s the intention to bring this final decision before the 1st Sunday of Advent 2022.

NEW INN TENNIS CLUB

Congratulations to Mags Fitzgerald and Eileen Hally who won the WD 3/4 at The Gathering hosted by Larkspur Park Tennis Club recently. They defeated Norita Kemp and Adrienne Ring in the final.

SINCERE SYMPATHY 

Is extended to Alice Downey and her family, Outrath on the passing of her husband Richard. Richard in his 94th year passed away, peacefully, at Tipperary University Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with Alice and her family Allie, Mary, Noreen, Caroline, Trisha, Richie, John, Bobby, Billy, Anne, Majella, Martina, Jacqui, Olivia, Jennifer and Paul at this sad time. He will be sadly missed by his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law, extended family, neighbours and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

THANK YOU – WILLIE FLYNN MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC

We had a wonderful weekend at Rockwell Rovers, Willie Flynn Memorial Golf Classic, we were so lucky to have the sunshine on us for both days. Lots of teams entered the arena in Dundrum House Hotel, Golf & Leisure Resort, some left very happy, others just had fun! Thanks to MBC Timber Frame Ltd. for sponsoring this event. The club is very grateful for your continued support. We finished off the weekend in Barron’s Bar, New Inn with a presentation to prize winners, followed by our raffle and auction. All monies raised in the auction is being donated to a charity very close to our hearts Cancer Clinical Trial Unit, Cork University Hospital, the auction was a huge success and raised over €5,000! Thanks to all the hard-working Golf Committee who put in huge work for weeks to make this a great weekend. Thanks to the teams that came and played and supported our Golf Classic. Thanks to all that sold and bought raffle tickets, helped with food etc your support is much appreciated.  Thanks to Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort Club for allowing us the use of their beautiful golf course over the weekend and Mary Frances Barron for facilitating the prize given and auction. Finally, thanks to the Flynn family for supporting us all the way, Willie Snr (RIP) was one of Rockwell Rovers great clubmen. This event was in recognition of Willie who not alone was a great within Rockwell Rovers but also within the New Inn community. The sudden and untimely passing of Willie touched everyone who knew him, and this was shown by the number of teams that supported the golf and the amount of people who attended Barron’s last night and contributed to the auction to raise funds for the chosen charity. WILLIE FLYNN MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC

Rockwell Rovers GAA Club is holding a Golf Classic in Dundrum Golf Club, Co. Tipperary this Friday July 8 & Saturday July 9. This year sparks a monumental moment with our Golf Classic as we remember Willie Flynn RIP, one of Rockwell Rovers great clubmen. The launch of this event is in recognition of Willie who not alone was a great within Rockwell Rovers but also within the New Inn community. The sudden and untimely passing of Willie touched everyone who knew him, and we are looking to you for help in remembering a true gentleman not just this year but into the future with the annual event. In addition to the golf classic, we will be running an auction at our prize winner’s presentation night on Saturday July 9 in Barrons pub, New Inn with all proceeds going to Cancer Research Ireland and your support in any way possible would be greatly appreciated. Also raffle tickets are €5 for 3 lines, prizes include Lunch for two, Cashel Palace, two All Ireland tickets plus more on the night. Raffle lines are on sale at “The Shop”, New Inn. MUNSTER SENIOR FISHING

Congratulations to Kevin Lafford, Graigue, New Inn who won the Munster Senior Fishing Championship in Golden recently. Kevin is a son of Ned & the late Teresa. He is a member of C.G.T.A.A. (Cahir, Golden, Tipperary, Anglers Association). Happy fishing Kevin.

ROCKWELL ROVERS LGFC

would like to congratulate Tipperary’s U16 ladies’ team on their victory over Donegal in the All-Ireland B semi-final which took place in Roscommon on Wednesday June 29. Our very own Ciara Fitzpatrick was playing corner forward on the night where she had a great game and contributed 3 points to the score sheet. Ciara is a great ambassador for the club and an inspiration to all the younger girls. The final will be played on Wednesday July 13 against Kildare, time and venue (tbc). We would encourage as many as possible to try and attend to support this great bunch of girls and to part facilitate this, Rockwell Rovers LGFC are planning in arranging a bus to travel on the evening, details to follow nearer the time. We at Rockwell Rovers LGFC would like to wish Ciara and her teammates the very best in the upcoming final.

CUL CAMP 2022

Well done to all the children who attended the Kellogg’s Cul Camp from last Monday June 27 to Friday July 1. The weather did not dampen spirits all week! Thanks to senior hurler Conor Bowe, who visited the camp on the second day and completed the Fiserv Top Bin challenge with the various groups. Well done to all the brilliant coaches and our head coach McKayla O’Dwyer who was ever professional.
